How to use ROS1 with ROS2 (with ROS1Bridge) Open Class
What you will learn in this Open Class
You may want to launch ROS2 nodes together with ROS1 nodes, and make them share information between each other through topics.
In this Live Class you are going to learn how to get information from ROS2 nodes in ROS1 nodes, and vice-versa, by using the ROS1Bridge
.
By the end of this Live Class you will understand:
- How to launch ROS2 and ROS1 nodes in the same computer
- How to launch the ROS1Bridge
- How to communicate a ROS1 node with a ROS2 Gazebo simulation
- How to communicate a ROS2 node with a ROS1 Gazebo simulation
Robots used in this class
- For this class, we are going to use the simulation of the MARA robot. MARA is the first robot in the world which is running 100% on ROS2, developed by Acutronic Robotics. You can find more information about real robot MARA here: https://acutronicrobotics.com/products/mara/
- We are going to use a ROS1 simulation of Turtlebot robot
